Metrobuses to detour on 23 routes this weekend


Events in the District of Columbia force Metrobuses to temporarily re-route June 25-27

Metrobus customers will experience detours on 23 routes from Friday, June 25, to Sunday, June 27, in the District of Columbia due to the 18th Annual National Barbecue Battle and the 18th Annual D.C. Caribbean Parade/Carnival.

Routes 13, 32, 34, 36, 54, 63, 64, 70, A11, A42, A46, A48, P6, S2, S4 and V8 will detour from 7 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Sunday at Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between Ninth and 14th streets due to the 18th Annual National Barbecue Battle.

Routes 62, 64, 66, 70, E2, E3, H2, H4 and H8 will detour from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 26, at Georgia Avenue, NW between Missouri and Florida avenues due to the 18th Annual D.C. Caribbean Parade/Carnival.

Metrobus service operations managers will monitor the events and adjust schedules as necessary.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s Web site or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
