Man struck by train early Sunday morning passes away

Police investigating incident

A 28-year-old man from Washington, D.C., died earlier today (July 4) after he was struck by a train at the Minnesota Ave Metrorail station at about 2:55 a.m. The train was headed in the direction of New Carrollton on the Orange Line at the time of the incident.

Metro Transit Police Department continues its investigation into the incident.
The station opened on time for service this morning.
