Metrobuses to detour on 17 routes this weekend


Construction, regional events force Metrobuses to temporarily re-route July 9-12

Metrobus customers will experience detours on 17 routes Friday, July 9, through Monday, July 12, in the District of Columbia and Maryland due to regional events and construction.

District of Columbia

Routes 5A and 52 will detour from 7 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday at the exit roadway between Southwest Freeway and 12th Street Tunnel and D Street, SW between Maryland Avenue and L’Enfant Plaza due to construction.

Routes D4 and D8 will detour from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Montello Avenue, NE between Florida Avenue and Morse Street due to Holy Land Spiritual Temple /Community Day.

Routes 64 and H8 will detour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Park Road, NW between 11th Street and Sherman Avenue due to the Community Health /Wellness Bazaar.

Routes 13, 32, 34, 36, 54, 63, 64, D6, P6, S2 and S4 will detour from 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday due to the Capital Crierium. The following streets will be closed during that time:

• Pennsylvania Avenue, NW between Ninth and 14th Streets
• 10th Street, NW between E Street and Constitution Avenue
• 11th Street, NW between F Street and Pennsylvania Avenue
• 12th Street, NW between G Street and Constitution Avenue
• 13th Street, NW between G Street and Pennsylvania Avenue
• F Street, NW between Ninth and 11th streets

Maryland

Route C14 will detour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Curtis Drive from Branch Avenue and throughout the Carriage Hill Apartment complex in Hillcrest Heights, Md. due to the apartment’s community day.


Metrobus service operations managers will monitor the events and adjust schedules as necessary.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s Web site or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
