Metrobuses to detour on 14 routes this weekend


Regional events force Metrobuses to temporarily re-route July 24-25

Metrobus customers will experience detours on 14 routes Saturday and Sunday, July 24-25, in the District of Columbia and Virginia due to regional events.

District of Columbia
Routes 5A, 32, 34, 36, 64, 52, 54, 70, 80, P6, S2, S4 and V8 will detour from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 7th Street between Constitution and Independence avenues and from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Constitution Avenue, NW between Pennsylvania Avenue and 23rd Street due to the Boy Scouts of America Grand Centennial Parade.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. routes 32, 34, 36, 52, 54, 70, P6 and V8 will use 3rd Street instead of 7th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and Independence Avenue.

From 1-4 p.m. route 80 will be not service 18th or 19th streets, NW south of E Street, NW. Customers traveling north or east on the route will find buses on F Street between 18th and 23rd streets. Passengers traveling south or west on the route between 19th Street and Virginia Avenue will find their bus on E Street.

Virginia
Route 23A will detour from 6-11 p.m. Saturday at Crystal Drive between 21st and 23rd streets in Arlington due the Crystal City Twilighter 5K. Route 23A will use Jefferson Davis Highway instead of Crystal Drive.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s website or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
