Metro updates Metrorail station neighborhood maps helping customers navigate by depicting latest community changes

Among new features are bus routes, bicycle paths and trails

Station area maps for all Metrorail stations are being updated for the first time since many of the stations opened, now making it easier for customers to find their way in neighborhoods that surround Metrorail stations.

With each Metrorail station at the center of the area maps, the maps provide customers a 360-degree view of a station’s surrounding community, up to three-quarters of a mile away. Click here to view a sample of the new station maps.

The new maps began appearing in stations on July 30 and all are expected to be installed by mid-August.

Located on station platforms and mezzanines, the maps feature surrounding streets, public buildings, parks, schools, hospitals, transportation options and places of interest, which were identified by local jurisdictions.

Bicycle paths and trails appear on the maps for the first time, along with listings of Metrobus routes and other bus services that are available at specific stations. Bus information will be overlaid onto the maps, so it can be easily updated when bus service changes.
