Cleveland Park Metrorail station reopens

Rail, bus, paratransit service affected by morning storm

Metro’s Cleveland Park Metrorail station reopened at about 3:15 p.m. today, August 12, following an early-morning thunderstorm that struck the Washington Metropolitan area, causing the temporary closures of some Metrorail stations. Metrobuses and MetroAccess vehicles were also slowed through areas where trees blocked roadways and a loss of power affected traffic signals.

The Cleveland Park Metrorail station was closed shortly before 8 a.m. today due to high water that poured into the station from the street level. Trains were permitted to pass through the station without stopping. Shuttle buses operated between the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan and Van Ness-UDC Metrorail stations to help get customers around the closure.
