Metro supports "International Car Free Day"

Metro is supporting "Car Free Day" and is encouraging area residents to give up their cars for a day and try Metrorail and Metrobus on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

Car Free Day is an international event held each year that promotes alternative modes of transportation including public transportation, bicycling and walking. Its goal is to take cars off the street, reducing traffic congestion and gasoline demand, and contribute to a greener environment.

Metro’s Web site features a Trip Planner to help map out commuting routes by Metrorail and Metrobus.
