Metro call centers closed temporarily; web site offers best access for information


Leased building that houses call center flooded

Metro’s customer call centers for MetroAccess and general Metro information as well as Metro’s Lost and Found Office are closed temporarily due to a flood in the leased space that houses those services, so Metro customers seeking information about MetroAccess, Metrorail, Metrobus and lost and found items should do so through Metro’s web site (http://www.wmata.com/ today.

The offices, including the MetroAccess reservations unit, will reopen once permission to reoccupy the building is granted.

MetroAccess riders still can reserve trips through MetroAccess Web Booking, which can be accessed through http://www.wmata.com/. Limited phone lines are available for urgent “Where’s My Ride?” calls.

Customers who want to plan their Metrorail or Metrobus trips can utilize the online trip planner on the Metro home page or they can call 202-637-7000 and say “Trip Planning” for automated telephone assistance. Customers who want to utilize the NextBus information can do so online or they also can call 202-637-7000 and say “NextBus” to receive automated information about when the next bus is scheduled to arrive at a specific bus stop. Customers who want to file a lost and found claim can also do so online.

Customers who want to access comment forms to offer suggestions or complaints may also access those forms online.
