Metrobuses detour on several routes this weekend
Hospital construction affects three routes; events cause temporary detours
Metrobuses will start detouring from routes 1A, 1C and 1Z on Sunday (Sept. 26) due to construction at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va. Also, weekend events in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia will force Metrobuses to detour on several other routes today (Sept. 24), Saturday (Sept. 25) and Sunday.
During construction at the hospital, customers will not be able to board Metrobuses at the hospital’s main entrance. A temporary bus stop will be set up in the parking lot between the hospital and the Woodburn Center for Community Mental Health. Buses will access the temporary stop by turning from Gallows Road onto Woodburn Road, then making a right into the parking lot.

Saturday
Route P6 will detour from 6:30 p.m. today to 8 p.m. at 4th Street, NW and SW, between Constitution and Independences avenues in the District of Columbia for the National Book Festival. Buses will use 3rd Street instead of 4th Street.
Routes 90, 92 and 93 will detour from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 8th Street, SE, between E and Eye streets in the District of Columbia for the Barracks Row Fall Festival. Buses will use 11th Street, SE.
Routes 96, U6 and W4 will detour from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 49th Street, NE, between East Capitol and Ames streets in the District of Columbia for the Peace Lutheran Church Community Day and Health Fair and Parade.
Route G2 will detour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 3rd Street, NW, between Q and R streets in the District of Columbia for the Mount Sinai Community Wide Health Fair. Buses will travel on Rhode Island Avenue and New Jersey Avenue instead of 3rd Street NW.
Route 38B will detour from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Wilson Boulevard between Washington Boulevard and Highland Street in Clarendon, Va., for the13th Annual Clarendon Day.
Routes 4B, 5A and 38B will detour from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Wilson Boulevard and Route 110 in Clarendon, Va., for the 2nd Annual Clarendon Day 5 to 10k.
Route C29 will detour from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Health Center Drive between Northview Drive and the Bowie Health Center in Bowie, Md., for the Bowie Health Fair.
Routes F8 and R4 will detour from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Hamilton Street between Agar and Queens Chapel roads in Hyattsville, Md., for the Hyattsville International Street Festival. Buses will use Agar and Lancer Drive instead of Hamilton Street.
Sunday
Routes H2 and H4 will detour from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Pleasant Street, NW, between Columbia and Park roads in the District of Columbia for the 2010 Fiesta D.C.
Routes 7A, 7F, 16B, 16J and 25A will detour from 6 to 10 a.m. at Washington Boulevard and Columbia Pike in Arlington, Va., for 7th Annual Navy 5-miler
Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s website at metropensdoors.com or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
