Metrobuses detour from several routes Oct. 16, 17


Area activities cause temporary rerouting

Metrobuses will detour from several routes this weekend, Oct. 16-17, in the District of Columbia and Virginia due to various events.

Saturday, Oct. 16
Routes 32, 34, 36, 54, 64, 70, P6, S2, S4 and V8 will detour from 7 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday at Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 12th and 14th streets in the District of Columbia due to the 13th annual Light the Night Walk. Additional route details include:

• Routes 32 and 26 will travel on F Street, NW, between 15th and 11th streets; on E Street, NW, between 11th and Third streets; and on Constitution Avenue between Third Street, NW, and First Street, NE.

• Route 34 will use Constitution Avenue between First Street, SE, and Third Street, NW, and on E Street between Third and 11th streets, NW.

• Route 54 will detour from Seventh Street between Constitution Avenue and D Street, SW, and use E Street between Third and 11th streets, NW, and D Street to access the Third Street tunnel and go into the L’Enfant Plaza area before returning to the regular route.

• Route 70 will detour from Seventh Street at E Street, NW, and use E and D streets to access the Third Street tunnel and go into the L’Enfant Plaza area before returning to its regular route.

• Route P6 will use E Street between Third and 11th streets, NW, then take the Third Street tunnel to Sixth Street, SW, where it will resume the regular route. The V8 will break off at Sixth Street and Independence, SW.

Sunday, Oct. 17
Routes 32, 34, 36, 96 and D6 will detour from 9 a.m. to noon for the Race to Remember. Routes 32, 34 and 36 will avoid Independence Avenue between Seventh Street, SW, and Sixth Street, SE. Instead, the routes will use Fourth Street and C Street, SW; Washington Avenue, SW; and E Street and Sixth Street, SE.

In Arlington, Va., Route 4B will detour from N. Pershing between N. Barton and N. Fillmore, using Route 50 from 6 to 10 a.m. due to the Race for the Cause 8K.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s website at metropensdoors.com or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
