Metrobuses detour from several routes Oct. 29 to 31


Area activities cause temporary rerouting

Metrobuses will detour from several routes between Friday and Sunday, Oct. 29 to 31, in the District of Columbia and Arlington, Va., due to various events.

The following routes will be affected by events this weekend:

Friday, Oct. 29
Routes P2 and P6 will detour from 8 p.m. on Friday to 4 a.m. on Sunday around Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between Third and Seventh streets in the District of Columbia due the Red Bull Sound Clash.

Saturday, Oct. 30
Route P6 will detour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. around Third and Fourth streets, NW/SW, between Constitution and Independence avenues in the District of Columbia due to the Jon Steward/Stephen Colbert “Rally to Restore Sanity.”

Routes 70, 90, 92, 96 and G2 will detour from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. around the vicinity of Georgia and Florida avenues, NW, in the District of Columbia due to the Howard University Homecoming Festival and Parade.

Route 31, 32 and 36 may detour in the evening in the Georgetown area of the District of Columbia if the District Department of Transportation and Metropolitan Police Department close primary streets due to overcrowding from expected Halloween celebrations. The 38B may be shortened in Rosslyn.

Sunday, Oct. 31
Routes 3A, 3E, 5A, 7A, 9A, 10A, 13A, 13F, 13G, 16B, 16E, 16J, 23A, 25P, 25R and 38B in Virginia and 5A, 32, 36, 52, 54, 70, D6, P6 and V8 in the District of Columbia will detour from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. around several streets due to the 32nd annual Marine Corps Marathon. Metrobuses will not serve the Pentagon Transit Center until after 4 p.m. but, instead, will serve the Pentagon City Metrorail station.

Route 23A will detour from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. around Crystal Drive, between 18th and 23rd streets in Arlington, Va., due to the Crystal Run, associated with the Marine Corps Marathon.

Routes 32, 92, W2, W4, W6 and W8 will detour from 4 to 9 p.m. around, Alabama Avenue, SE, between Know Place and Irving Street in the District of Columbia due the Seventh District Halloween Festival.
