Riders Advisory Council looks into governance

Riders group seeks public input on report

The Metro Riders’ Advisory Council invites members of the public to provide comments on its draft Report on governance of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority at a special meeting scheduled for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov.17, at Metro headquarters, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington.

The Council examined Metro’s governance structure, met with current and former Board members and regional transit advocates and developed recommendations on how it believes the Metro Board of Directors and executive leadership can more effectively manage and provide oversight for the transit agency. A copy of the draft report can is available here. Members of the public can also submit comments via email through raccomments@wmata.com.
