Metrorail to Open At 6 a.m. this Saturday for the Help the Homeless Walkathon

This Saturday, Nov. 20, the Metrorail system will open one hour early, at 6 a.m., to accommodate the crowds expected to attend the Annual Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon, which begins at 9 a.m.

The walk will take place between 4th and 7th Streets, N.W., from the National Mall to the Tidal Basin.

Participants and spectators are encouraged to take Metrorail and exit at the L=Enfant Plaza, Federal Triangle, Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter, Smithsonian or Gallery Place-Chinatown Metrorail stations. For those driving to Metrorail stations to begin their trips, parking is free at Metro-operated parking lots and garages during weekends.

The organizers paid Metro in advance for the early opening.
