Metrobuses detour seven routes on Nov. 20


Area event causes temporary rerouting

Metrobuses will detour seven routes on Saturday, Nov. 20, in the District of Columbia due to the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon and Silver Spring annual Thanksgiving Parade.

Routes 52, 54, 70, P6 and V8 will detour from 8:45 to 11 a.m. around Fourth, Seventh and 14th streets, NW/SW, between Constitution and Independence avenues during the event. For additional information on these detours, click here.

Routes F4 and Z8 will detour from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. around Georgia Avenue  northbound between Sligo Avenue and Colesville Road, and Fenton Street between Wayne Avenue and Colesville Road during the Thanksgiving parade. Southbound lanes on Georgia Avenue will remain open; however, left turns from Colesville Road onto Georgia Avenue will not be permitted during the detour period.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s website at metroopensdoors.com or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
