Metro anticipates normal Friday service

Commuters should allow for extra time getting to the train station or bus stop

Metro workers will remove snow from station entrances and platforms and monitor the region’s roadways in preparation to operate regular rail, bus and paratransit services if it snows late this evening and overnight tonight.

Metrorail anticipates operating its normal services on Friday, Jan. 21, in spite of weather forecasts for snow. Riders are encouraged to use care and caution while entering and exiting Metrorail stations as station platforms may be slippery due to weather conditions.

Metrobus will operate on its regular schedule with supervisors monitoring road conditions throughout the day. Customers are encouraged to call NextBus at 202-637-7000 or check Metro’s NextBus Web site at http://www.wmata.com/rider_tools/nextbus/arrivals.cfm to help determine when the next bus will arrive.
MetroAccess will also operate as usual and supervisors will monitor road conditions throughout the day. Customers with scheduled rides may call (301) 562-5360 for a status update of their ride.

There are a variety of ways for Metro customers to stay informed during inclement weather. Metro constantly updates local news media of Metro service changes. Information is also available at www.metroopensdoors.com on the left side of the home page or by calling Metro at 202-637-7000. Customers can also subscribe to e-Alerts and receive up-to-date service disruption information on Metrorail and MetroAccess.
