Metrobuses to detour during State of the Union Address


Limited access around the U.S. Capitol

Metrobuses will detour routes 32, 34, 36 and 39 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. today, Jan. 25, in the District of Columbia due to the State of the Union Address.

The following streets near the U.S. Capitol will be affected:
• Second Street, NE/SE, between Massachusetts Avenue and D Street, SE
• Massachusetts Avenue, NE, between Second Street and Louisiana Avenue
• Louisiana Avenue, NE, between Columbus Circle and Constitution Avenue, NW
• Constitution Avenue, NW, between Louisiana Avenue and Third Street
• Third Street, NW/SW, between Constitution Avenue, NW, and Independence Avenue, SW
• Independence Avenue, SW, between Third Street and Washington Avenue
• Washington Avenue, SW, between Independence Avenue and D Street
• D Street, SW/SE, between Washington Avenue and Second Street, SE

Service Operations Managers will monitor the event and adjust bus schedules as necessary.

Metrobus customers can use the Next Bus information service to find out when buses will arrive at a given stop, by logging onto Metro’s website at metropensdoors.com or calling 202-637-7000 and saying, “Next Bus.”
