March planned work on the Red, Blue, Orange and Yellow lines to improve safety and reliability


Work aimed at rebuilding the Metrorail system

This month, in addition to the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project that will result in no rail service between the East Falls Church and West Falls Church-VT/UVA Metrorail stations for the weekends of March 11 to 13 and March 18 to 20, Metro will also conduct major weekend, weeknight and weekday track maintenance work as part of its effort to rebuild the Metrorail system. All weekend work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday nights and conclude at closing on Sunday.

All weeknight projects will begin at 10 p.m. and conclude at closing (midnight).

Metro will not conduct major weekend track maintenance during the opening of the National Cherry Blossom festival on Saturday, March 26.
