Normal service resumes at Bethesda Metrorail station


Red Line service temporarily disrupted after woman struck by train

Normal service resumed on the Red Line at 10 a.m. after a woman was struck by a train at the Bethesda Metrorail station around 7:50 a.m. today (April 11).

Red Line trains shared a single track between the Friendship Heights and Medical Center Metrorail stations until 10 a.m.

The preliminary police investigation indicated that the woman intentionally placed herself in the path of the oncoming train. She was taken to a local hospital. The Metro Transit Police investigation is ongoing.
