Upcoming construction work at Twinbrook and White Flint stations

Customers advised of parking impacts

Beginning Tuesday, July 5, construction work associated with future joint development projects will impact parking customers using Twinbrook and White Flint Metrorail stations.

At Twinbrook station, approximately 53 parking spaces and part of the sidewalk adjacent to the west parking lot will be closed until further notice to prepare for the construction of the 424-space Metro West Garage. The existing vehicular access to the parking lot will remain open, and alternate Metro parking will be available at the Twinbrook east parking lot and the White Flint Metro parking garage. Pedestrians entering the area between Halpine Road and the station entrance will be routed to the west sidewalk along Chapman Avenue.

At White Flint station, the north sidewalk along Marinelli Road will be closed intermittently for approximately seven months due to office building construction as part of a joint development project. Pedestrians accessing the areas between the Metro parking garage and station entrance will be routed to the south sidewalk along Marinelli Road. The bus stops for Metrobus Route C8 and Ride-On Bus Route 81 will be relocated to the far side of northbound Rockville Pike and westbound Marinelli Road.

To alert customers of these changes, signs have been posted at both stations and take-ones with maps (in both English and Spanish) are now available at station manager kiosks and parking booths.
