Planned software upgrades to impact weekend SmarTrip® transactions


Limited online account info and transaction capability expected

Metro is advising customers that some SmarTrip® functions will be not be available this weekend as upgrades are made to the SmarTrip® computer operating system and database software.

Saturday Aug. 13:

  • Farecards & Passes machines in stations will accept credit transactions up to $20 only. Debit transactions will not be accepted. Cash transactions of any value can be made. Regular credit and debit transaction functions will be available by 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14.
  • SmarTrip® point-of-sale units (e.g. those used at CVS and other retail stores) will accept cash only. Credit and debit transactions will not be available.
  • Online account information will not be available.
  • Access to SmartBenefits® web applications or claiming of benefits will not be available.

Sunday, Aug. 14:

  • SmarTrip® point-of-sale units (e.g. those used at CVS and other retail stores) will accept cash only. Credit and debit transactions will not be available.
  • Online account information will not be available.
  • Access to SmartBenefits® web applications or claiming of benefits will not be available.

All functionality will be restored by 12:01 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15.
