Blue/Yellow Line service restored

9:30 AM UPDATE: Normal Blue/Yellow Line service has been restored on both tracks, in both directions.

9:10 AM UPDATE: As of 9:10 a.m., one of two tracks has been returned to service as high water levels recede.  Limited rail service is now operating between Braddock Road and National Airport using the single track.  Shuttle bus service remains available.

Original news release below:

Blue/Yellow Line service is temporarily suspended between Reagan National Airport and Braddock Road due to flooding in the area of Potomac Yards in Alexandria.  Trains cannot operate through the area because the water level is above the height of the top of the rail.

Metro has dispatched support personnel from across the system to assist with pumping operations.  Service will be restored as quickly and safely as possible.

As of 6:20 a.m., shuttle bus service is substituting for Blue/Yellow Line trains between Reagan National Airport and Braddock Road.  Customers traveling through this area should allow extra travel time.
