Metrobus A2, A42, P12 and W2 to be rerouted near United Medical Center


Route change begins Sunday, Aug. 21

 Effective Sunday, Aug. 21, Metro will make a minor route change to four bus routes—the A2, A42, P12 and W2—around United Medical Center due to the nightly closure of its exit gate on 13th Street SE.

The United Medical Center closes the exit gate nightly between 9 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. for security reasons. During these hours, buses will be rerouted as follows:

Routes A2, A42, P12
Buses will take the regular route to the intersection of Southern Avenue and the United Medical Center bus entrance roadway SE, then continue on Southern Avenue on the regular route.

Route W2 Eastbound
Buses will take the regular route to the intersection of Southern Avenue and the United Medical Center bus entrance roadway SE, then continue on Southern Avenue turning right at the Southern Ave station entrance roadway to a new bus terminal stand west of bus bay P at the station.

Route W2 Westbound
From the new bus terminal stand west of bus bay P at Southern Ave station, buses will proceed on the station roadway and go left onto Southern Ave SE to the intersection of Southern Avenue and the United Medical Center bus entrance roadway. Buses will continue on Southern Avenue to 13th Street, where they go right and continue on the regular route.
