Rhode Island Avenue staircase construction work planned

Beginning on or about Monday, Nov. 7, Metro begin construction work on the staircase that leads from Rhode Island Avenue to the Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail station entrance. The construction work is expected last about three weeks.

During this time, Metro customers will have the option to enter the station via Washington Place through the bus bays or cross Rhode Island Avenue and use the pedestrian bridge to the station.  Bus boarding locations will be temporarily relocated.  For details, please see the PDF Customer Notice.

The construction project is part of an overall joint development program that features the construction of 274 residential units, 65,000 square feet of retail space and a multi-level parking facility.
