Weekday track work schedule for December 19-23
While no major track work is scheduled over the Christmas or New Year's holiday weekends, Metro will advance minor projects during the week of December 19 through 23.
Red Line
- 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday through Friday: Single tracking between Rhode Island Avenue and Fort Totten for rail/tie renewal. Expect 5-10 minute delays.
- 10 p.m. - closing Monday through Thursday: Single tracking between Takoma and Forest Glen for fiber optic cable installation. Minor delays.
- 10 p.m. - closing Monday night: Single tracking between Dupont Circle and Van Ness for rail upgrades. Minor delays.
- 10 p.m. - closing Monday through Thursday: Single tracking between Friendship Heights and Medical Center for rail fastener renewal. Minor delays.
Orange Line
- 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Monday through Friday: Single tracking between Cheverly and New Carrollton for rail/tie renewal. Expect 5-10 minute delays.
- 10 p.m. - closing Monday through Thursday: Single tracking between Smithsonian and Eastern Market for switch replacement prep. Expect 5-10 minute delays.
- 10 p.m. - closing Monday through Thursday: Single tracking between East Falls Church and West Falls Church for cable installation. No delays expected.
Blue Line
- 10 p.m. - closing Monday through Thursday: Single tracking between Smithsonian and Eastern Market for switch replacement prep. Expect 5-10 minute delays.
Green/Yellow Lines
- 11 p.m. - closing Monday through Thursday: Single tracking between U Street and Georgia Avenue for rail maintenance. No delays expected.
