Missing 3-month old reunited with mother

UPDATE 1:50 A.M. SATURDAY, APRIL 21

Metro Transit Police at Anacostia Station are reporting that the missing 3-month-old infant was reunited with her mother at 1:40 a.m., when the woman to whom the mother gave the child this morning finally returned to the station.  

The infant appears to be unharmed.

The Metropolitan Police Youth Investigations Branch has taken the lead on the investigation.

Metro Transit Police searching for missing infant
3-month-old last seen at Anacostia Station

Metro Transit Police are seeking the public's assistance to help find a missing 3-month-old infant who was last seen at Anacostia Station earlier today.

The infant is a 3-month-old black female, medium complexion, last seen in a black stroller with a pink top, wearing a pink t-shirt, diamond stud earrings, brown pants and brown shoes with monkey cartoons on them. She has a birthmark on her left elbow.

The infant's mother placed the infant in the custody of a woman known to her around 10:30 a.m. today at Anacostia Station. The woman and infant were expected to return to the station at 3:00 p.m., but did not return.

The person last seen with the infant is identified as Chabria Murphy, 19, of Washington, DC.  She is described as 5'4", 230 lbs, last seen wearing blue or gray jeans and a wrap around her head.  She is known to reside in the 2800 block of Pomeroy Road SE.

Metro Transit Police and Metropolitan Police are actively canvasing the area and following leads in this case.
