Blue/Orange Line service update 8:40 p.m.

As of 8:30 p.m., Blue and Orange Line trains continue to single track through Rosslyn due to a minor derailment involving a Blue Line train shortly after 7 p.m.  The derailment involves a single wheelset on one car of the train.

There were no injuries and all passengers were safely offloaded to the platform in less than 10 minutes.

The train involved was a Franconia-Springfield-bound train consisting of six cars, four of which were on the platform at the time of the incident. 

Service Information

  • Orange Line trains are single tracking with delays between Foggy Bottom and Clarendon.  
  • Blue Line trains are single tracking between Foggy Bottom and Arlington Cemetery.  
  • Customers traveling between DC and Virginia are encouraged to consider using Yellow Line trains via L'Enfant Plaza as an alternate travel option.
