For immediate release: April 25, 2012

Blue/Orange Line service update 12:45 a.m.

Crews remain on scene at Rosslyn Station following an earlier minor derailment.

There were no injuries and all passengers were safely offloaded to the platform in less than 10 minutes. Metro estimates that there were approximately 1,000 passengers aboard the train.

As of 12:30 a.m., personnel have completed the re-railing process and are inspecting and testing a switch point near the derailment outside the station.

Metro expects Orange Line service to operate normally during the morning commute. 

Work to restore normal Blue Line service will continue through the overnight hours.  An update on Blue Line service will be issued at approximately 4:30 a.m.
