Red Line delays affecting evening commute
Metro is advising Red Line customers of delays affecting the evening commute due to a third-rail problem outside Bethesda Station.
- Red Line trains are single-tracking between Friendship Heights and Medical Center stations.
- Currently delays are estimated at 10-20 minutes for most Red Line trains.
- Some Red Line trains are turning at Van Ness Station for service back to Glenmont.
- Customers should allow additional travel time and expect crowding conditions until the situation is resolved.
Metro personnel are on the scene working to resolve the issue.
