Metro seeks input on the Central Avenue Line Service evaluations

Transportation agencies, riders to discuss service issues, potential solutions

In cooperation with its jurisdictional partners, Metro will host two community meetings on Wednesday, June 13, and Tuesday, June 19, to discuss the Central Avenue Line (C21, C22, C26, and C29) and the Pointer Ridge Line (C28) Service Evaluation Study. At the community meetings, the project team will discuss preliminary findings and potential service improvement concepts.

The meetings are part of ongoing study to improve Metrobus service on some of the region’s most heavily used bus lines.

Riders are encouraged to attend the public meetings to provide input on the service evaluation of the C21, C22, C26, C29 and C28 lines.

The meetings will take place as follows:

  • Wednesday, June 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Town of Seat Pleasant Administration Office, 6301 Addison Road, Capitol Heights, Md.
  • Tuesday, June 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Largo-Kettering Public Library, 9601 Capital Lane, Largo, Md.

All members of the public are welcome and no advance registration is required.

The format of the meetings will be “open house,” where participants can come by at any time between the beginning and end of the meeting to offer their input; there will be no set time for a presentation. Metro hopes that the open format will promote a direct dialogue between Metrobus riders and project staff, and that the absence of a meeting schedule will appeal to those who have only a few minutes to participate.
