Metro GM/CEO Sarles sends letter to Pepco, Dominion presidents
Expresses gratitude for support of Metro operations following storm
Metro General Manager and CEO Richard Sarles today sent a letter to Pepco president Thomas H. Graham and Dominion Power president Thomas F. Farrell, II, expressing thanks for the utilities' support of Metro in the aftermath of Friday night's storm.
"Your respective teams prioritized work needed to keep Metro service operating, ensuring efficient use of manpower and resources, and helping us ensure the safety of customers and employees," Sarles wrote. "Both companies have staff who were responding promptly and effectively to calls from our Rail Operations Control Center, Maintenance Operations Center, and Departmental Systems Maintenance during the weather event."
"Thanks to your efforts and collaboration with us, we were able to operate the Metrorail system throughout the storm and weekend," Sarles added.
