Metrorail to open at 5 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, for Army Ten-Miler

The Metrorail system will open two hours early, at 5 a.m., on Sunday, October 21, for the Army Ten-Miler.

  • Customers traveling to the race should use Pentagon Station on the Blue and Yellow lines.
  • Metro will operate additional trains between on the Blue Line between Franconia-Springfield and Stadium-Armory between 6 a.m. and 8:40 a.m., and between 11:15 a.m. and 12:40 p.m.
  • Customers should take note of scheduled track work on the Red, Orange and Green lines and allow additional travel time.
  • If using a paper farecard, please protect it from moisture during the race.
  • To avoid lines, be sure to load enough fare value on your SmarTrip or paper farecard for your entire roundtrip.

The additional two hours of service is funded through an agreement with event organizers. For more information, please visit the Army Ten-Miler website.

Metro also will open at 5 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28, for the Marine Corps Marathon.
