Metro seeks to inform the public on proposed Metrobus service changes

Special Public Meeting in Cheverly on Thursday, October 25

Metro will host a public meeting on Oct. 25 about proposed changes to Metrobus service that will improve service for many customers without increasing operating expense. The Metrobus service adjustments are part of Metro’s commitment to invest $5 million to provide customers with ‘better bus’ service, the biggest improvement to bus service in five years.

The public meeting will be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Cheverly Town Hall at 6401 Forest Road in Cheverly, MD. At the public meeting, the community will be able to learn about proposed Metrobus service changes in an informal setting from Metrobus planners and Prince George’s County transit staff. Customers can ask questions and provide feedback about the proposed changes. Comments will not be part of the public record.

Customers wishing to provide comments as part of the public record can speak at any of the public hearings being held in October, or provide written statements to the Office of the Secretary, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, 600 Fifth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001; or by email to writtentestimony@wmata.com before 5pm on Monday, November 5, 2012.
