Metro service information December 24 through January 1

 Below is a summary of Metro service information through January 1, 2013:

Monday, December 24 (Christmas Eve)

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Metrorail system open 5 a.m. until midnight.  All trains will operate with six cars.

Scheduled track work on Red & Blue lines starting at 8 p.m.

Tuesday, December 25 (Christmas Day)

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Metrorail system open 7 a.m. until midnight.

MetroAccess subscription trips cancelled. 

Wednesday, December 26

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Metrorail system open 5 a.m. until midnight.  All trains will operate with six cars.

Scheduled track work on Red & Blue lines starting at 8 p.m.

Thursday, December 27

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Metrorail system open 5 a.m. until midnight.  All trains will operate with six cars.

Scheduled track work on Red & Blue lines starting at 8 p.m.

Friday, December 28

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Metrorail system open 5 a.m. until 3 a.m.  All trains will operate with six cars.

Scheduled track work on the Green Line starting at 10 p.m. Trains will single track between Greenbelt and College Park.

Saturday, December 29

Metrorail and Metrobus operate on a Saturday schedule.

Metrorail system open 7 a.m. until 3 a.m.

Scheduled track work on the Green Line. Trains will single track between Greenbelt and College Park.

Sunday, December 30

Metrorail and Metrobus operate on Sunday schedule.

Metrorail system open 7 a.m. until midnight at most stations. An additional hour of service will operate from Morgan Boulevard Station for Redskins fans.

Scheduled track work on the Red Line after 8 p.m. Trains will single track between Friendship Heights and Medical Center.

Monday, December 31 (New Year’s Eve)

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Metrorail system open two hours later than normal (2 a.m.).  Last train times vary by station; add two hours to weekday last train times.

No scheduled track work.

Tuesday, January 1 (New Year's Day)

Metrorail and Metrobus operate on Sunday schedule.

Metrorail system open 7 a.m. until midnight.

Scheduled track work on the Red Line after 8 p.m. Trains will single track between Friendship Heights and Medical Center.

Scheduled track work on the Blue Line after 8 p.m. Trains will single track between Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn Street.

MetroAccess subscription trips cancelled.
