Normal service restored at Ballston Station

Update 4:25 p.m. 

Orange Line trains have resumed service at Ballston Station.  The fire department responded and extinguished smoldering debris inside a vent shaft.  There was no fire within the station.

As of 4:10 p.m. Orange Line trains are bypassing Ballston Station due to a report of smoke from a vent grate at street level.  There is no reported fire within the station.  The fire department is on scene.

Customers can walk to/from Virginia Square station, which is about a half mile away.  Shuttle bus service is being established between Ballston and Virginia Square.
