** ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS **

Metro personnel are on the scene of a third-rail problem outside Anacostia Station.  The issue is an "arcing insulator," a part of the third rail that is generating smoke due to wayward electrical current.

Currently, trains are single tracking between Navy Yard and Southern Avenue stations.  Customers should expect delays of 20 to 30 minutes through the area until the situation is resolved.

Updates will follow.
