Red Line resumes two-track operations following earlier unauthorized person on track

UPDATE 5:40 p.m.

Red Line trains are resuming normal two-track operations following an earlier unauthorized person on the track at Bethesda.  Metro Transit Police removed the woman, who placed herself the outbound track and refused to move.  Customers should expect residual delays in both directions on the Red Line as Metro resumes normal operations.

As of 5:30 p.m., Red Line trains are single tracking between Friendship Heights and Medical Center stations due to an unauthorized person on the tracks at Bethesda.  Metro Transit Police are en route to address the situation.  Customers should expect delays in both directions.
