Metro to host open houses for Silver Line

Metro will host three open houses next week to share information with customers and residents about the Silver Line, which is scheduled to open later this year.  At each event, participants will be able to view information exhibits, ask questions of Metro representatives, and learn about changes to Metrorail and Metrobus service as a result of the new line.

The Silver Line Phase I extension is an 11-mile, five station line that is currently under construction by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.  Once completed, the new line will serve Tysons and Reston and provide a transfer-free ride to and from Downtown DC.  

Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle Avenue Station in Reston and Largo Town Center in Largo, Md.

The open houses will take place as follows:

Tuesday, March 12
5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Faith Temple #2 Baptist Church
211 Maryland Park Drive
Capitol Heights, MD

Thursday, March 14
5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Reston Community Center Hunters Woods
2310 Colts Neck Road
Reston, VA

Saturday, March 16
11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Sheraton Crystal City Hotel
1800 Jefferson Davis Highway
Arlington, VA

Members of the public are welcome to submit public comment about the Silver Line at any of the three open houses, or online at www.wmata.com/silverline.
