Red Line service disrupted due to fire department response
UPDATE:
- No reported injuries.
- There were no passengers aboard the train at the time of the incident.
- Fire department personnel are on the scene.
Red Line service is temporarily suspended between Takoma and Forest Glen due to fire department activity at Silver Spring.
Metro is working to establish alternate shuttle bus service between Takoma and Forest Glen stations, with an intermediate stop at Silver Spring. Customers are advised that it will take time to bring enough buses to the area to support current ridership.
The fire department is on the scene at Silver Spring evaluating the situation. Additional details will be provided as information becomes available.
