Red Line update 3 - Silver Spring now open for exit only

Trains are now serving Silver Spring for exiting passengers only. Single tracking continues btwn Takoma and Forest Glen with delays.  

As of 7:30 p.m., rail service has been restored between Takoma and Forest Glen stations following earlier fire department activity at Silver Spring Station. Trains are single tracking between the two stations.

Riders wishing to enter the Metrorail system at Silver Spring should take a shuttle bus to Forest Glen for Red Line service. Silver Spring Station is currently is exit only.
