ORIGINAL RELEASE:

Red Line trains are single tracking between Takoma and NoMa-Gallaudet stations due to a disabled train outside Rhode Island Avenue station. Shortly after noon, the outbound train is believed to have struck an object on the wayside of the track.  The train did not derail.  Response personnel are on the scene.

There are no reported injuries to the 63 passengers aboard the train.  The passengers will be transferred to a second train through the bulkhead doors at the front of the train.

Red Line riders can use the Green Line as an alternate route between Fort Totten and Gallery Place stations.  Red Line trains will experience delays in both directions until the disruption is resolved.
