Metro is advising Orange Line riders of the potential for delays and crowding during the morning commute due to a signal problem affecting West Falls Church rail yard. As a result of the problem, which is affecting the yard only, dispatchers are unable to set routes for trains to enter service from the yard.

All in-service Orange Line trains are coming from yards at New Carrollton and Alexandra.

Technicians are on the scene working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. However, until the issue is resolved, riders on the Orange Line will see trains arrive less frequently than normal, with associated delays and crowding.

West Falls Church Yard has storage capacity for 144 cars, the equivalent of 18 8-car trains.
