Metro seeks input on 29 Line Metrobus services (Routes 29K, 29N, 29C,E,G,H,X)
Riders, transportation agencies, to discuss service issues, potential solutions
Metro, in cooperation with Fairfax County, Fairfax City, and the City of Alexandria will host two community meetings to discuss the Metrobus Routes 29K and 29N (the Alexandria-Fairfax Line) and Routes 29C, E, G, H, and X (the Annandale Line) service evaluation study.
The meetings are part of ongoing studies to improve Metrobus service on some of the region’s most heavily used bus lines. At the meetings, the project team will discuss preliminary findings and potential service improvements.
The public meetings will be held:
Monday, August 26, 2013—6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Beatley Central Library
5005 Duke Street
Alexandria, VA (The library is served by Routes 29K and 29N)
Tuesday, August 27, 2013—5:30 to 7:30 pm
Northern Virginia Community College
8333 Little River Turnpike
Annandale, VA (In the Forum of the Ernst Community Cultural Center - CE Building)
The college is served by Routes 29K and N, and Routes 29C, E, and X. Parking will also be available on campus in the upper parking garage (CP Building) off West Drive, which is accessible from Wakefield Chapel Road.
The meetings are open to all members of the public; no advance registration is required. Participants may arrive any time between the start and end time of each meeting. Metro hopes that the open format will promote a direct dialogue between Metrobus riders and project staff, and that the absence of a meeting schedule will appeal to those who have only a few minutes to participate.
Metrobus Routes 29K and 29N run from Old Town Alexandria along Duke Street and in Fairfax County along Little River Turnpike to Fairfax City. The 29K terminates at George Mason University and the 29N ends at Fairfax Circle. Routes 29C, E, G, H, and X serve riders in Annandale along and south of Little River Turnpike before heading north on I-395 to the Pentagon.
