Metro Performers to take Kennedy Center Millennium Stage

Metro’s Art in Transit Program is collaborating with The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage to present MetroPerforms! Showcase this Sunday evening.  The event will feature ten performances by selected musicians and dancers who have performed at Metro stations and on the National Mall this summer through MetroPerforms!, the performing arts component of Art in Transit.

MetroPerforms! Showcase will be presented Sunday, August 18, 2013, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Millennium Stage.  The event is free and open to the public.

The showcase will include a variety of genres including, classical, jazz, hip-hop, and R&B music and dance performances. The lineup includes performances by saxophonist Kristoffer Wright, neo-soul instrumentalists SynchronCity, storyteller Nana Malaya Rucker, vocalist Patricia Tommy, harpist Nora Kelsall, acappella quartet See Jane Sing, acappella trio The Light, hip-hop dance troop O.B.E.Y. Crew, vocalist/guitar player Luke Reddick, and violinist Nicholas Wilson.

The Kennedy Center is accessible via Foggy Bottom Metrorail station on the Orange and Blue lines.
