Metro cancels Sunday rebuilding work due to expected weather; trains to run on normal schedule
Metro has cancelled all scheduled rebuilding work on Sunday, December 8, to allow crews to prepare for--and respond to--expected winter weather conditions. The move also allows Metro to allocate additional resources to preparing the system for Monday morning's commute.
As a result, trains will run on a regular Sunday schedule on all Metrorail lines.

- Trains will run at normal Sunday intervals on all lines
- No planned track work on any line
- Previously announced bus shuttles on the Blue Line have been CANCELLED
- Regular Sunday hours (7 a.m. until midnight)
Metro riders are encouraged to visit wmata.com/snow for information and maps showing pre-planned Metrobus route adjustments that may be necessary due to road conditions.

Winter Travel Tips
- Before you start your trip, find out how Metro is serving your area and don't let yourself get stranded once you're out.
- Dress warmly. You may be outside longer than normal.
- Do not stand in the street while waiting for a bus.
- Use extreme caution when walking on exposed surfaces, including parking lots and station platforms.
- Never run for a bus or train.
- Report any unsafe conditions to a Metro employee.
