Updated 9:40 p.m. | Monday, January 20, 2014

The Metro service area is under a Winter Storm Warning from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Tuesday service information follows:

Metrorail: Rail service is expected to start the day on a regular weekday schedule; however, service levels may be reduced later in the day due to expected low ridership and deteriorating weather conditions. For your safety, travel only if necessary. If you must travel, plan to arrive at your destination before the worst of the storm, and be prepared to remain there until the storm passes.  Check wmata.com before starting your trip or sign up for MetroAlerts to receive updated service information by email or text message.

Metrobus:  Bus service is expected to start the day on a normal schedule; however, as the storm arrives and road conditions deteriorate, buses may be delayed or detoured.  If conditions are severe, Metro may suspend bus service for your safety.  We will make every effort to provide 3 hours of notice prior to any suspension of Metrobus service on our website, and through MetroAlerts, Twitter and broadcast media.  For your safety, travel only if necessary. If you must travel, plan to arrive at your destination before the worst of the storm, and be prepared to remain there until the storm passes.  For delays and detours affecting individual routes, check the bus alerts page or sign up for MetroAlerts for the routes you take.

Service will be restored when it is safe to do so; however a time for service restoration is not yet known.

Accessibility Advisory Subcommittee Meeting:  The scheduled meeting of the Accessibility Advisory Subcommittee at Metro Headquarters (originally planned for 4-6 p.m. Tuesday) has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date to be determined.
