Metro holds second round of public meetings for Eastover-Addison Road line services

Riders, transportation agencies to discuss improvements to P12 service

Metro, in cooperation with the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation and the Maryland Department of Transportation, is currently working on a study of potential improvements to Route P12 (the Eastover-Addison Road Line).

As part of the study, two public meetings were held in May to discuss issues with service on the line, and two more meetings will be held in July to get feedback on a set of options for improvements.

The public meetings will be held:

Tuesday, July 8, 2014—5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Southview Apartments’ Learning Center
1300 Southview Drive
Oxon Hill, MD

Wednesday, July 9, 2014—4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Spauldings Library
5811 Old Silver Hill Road
District Heights, MD

Both public meetings are directly served by Route P12 and are open to all members of the public. No advance registration is required.

Participants may arrive any time between the start and end time of each meeting.  Metro hopes that the open format will promote a direct dialogue between Metrobus riders and project team, and that the absence of a meeting schedule will appeal to those who have only a few minutes to participate. The project team would like as much input on the ideas as possible before the study’s recommendations are made and final report is completed.

A Spanish translator will be provided upon request for those with limited English proficiency. Both locations are wheelchair-accessible. Persons requiring special accommodations are asked to e-mail info@metrobus-studies.com before July 3.

This project is the latest in a series of corridor studies in which Metro and its partner agencies in the Washington metropolitan region study service and operations on the Metrobus network’s busiest lines and make gradual improvements, including restructured routes, limited-stop services and other enhancements.
