Metrorail weekend service adjustments November 7-9 for rebuilding

Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of November 7-9 with service adjustments on two of Metro's six rail lines beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and continuing through closing Sunday.

This weekend, Orange, Silver, Blue and Yellow line trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule (Yellow to/from Mt Vernon Sq only). Red Line trains will run every 16 minutes, and Green Line trains will run every 20 minutes.

No track work on Veterans Day
On Veterans' Day, Tuesday November 11, there will be no track work on any line, as Metro provides enhanced service to support the Concert for Valor on the National Mall. Additional Yellow Line service will replace Blue Line trains throughout the day. More info

Metro is investing $5.5 billion to install new rail, ties, platforms, escalators, signals, lighting, communication systems, and more. It represents the largest capital investment -- and work effort -- since the system's original construction in the early 1970s.
