Metro Transit Police release composite sketch of person of interest in armed carjacking/kidnapping

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the individual is urged to call (202) 962-2121 or send a text message to "MyMTPD"

Metro Transit Police today released a composite sketch of a person of interest wanted for questioning in a carjacking/kidnapping that occurred on November 12 shortly before 10:30 p.m. at the Vienna Metrorail Station parking lot.

The victim reported that a suspect approached her vehicle as she was exiting the Vienna Metrorail Station, displayed a handgun, entered the vehicle and forced her to drive to several establishments in Prince George's County to withdraw cash and make purchases. The suspect released the victim at the New Carrollton Metrorail Station and left the scene.

The suspect is described as approximately 5'10" and walks with a limp to his right side. The victim, an adult female, was not injured during the incident.

Metro Transit Police and Fairfax County Police have been working cooperatively on the investigation and now have reason to believe that the same suspect may be responsible for a second, non-Metro-related carjacking that occurred on November 7 in the 3000-block of Nutley Street in Fairfax. Fairfax County Police are leading the investigation into the incident.

On Saturday, Metro Transit Police released photographs from surveillance cameras of the person of interest.

Anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the person depicted below is asked to call Metro Transit Police immediately at (202) 962-2121 and reference case 2014-57341. Tips can also be sent via text message to MyMTPD (696873). Do not take action other than calling police.

There are no active warrants for the individual pictured at this time.
