Metro to continue operating buses under moderate snow plan for remainder of day

Metrorail operating normally

In the interest of safety given current road conditions, all Metrobus service will continue operating on a "moderate snow plan" for the remainder of the service day. Under the moderate snow plan, service is provided along most major arteries; however, some Metrobus routes do not operate and others are detoured to keep buses off of hilly terrain, narrow side streets and other problem areas.

Riders can get complete details for their bus route, including maps, by using the link below:

In addition, bus riders are urged to check the BUS ALERTS & ADVISORIES page or sign up for MetroAlerts email and text messages before travelling for any unplanned detours or delays as a result of conditions.

Buses that operate along the region's major arteries are generally operating without significant issues.

Metro also announced that all DC Public School bus trips will operate as scheduled this afternoon, provided that it is safe to do so. DCPS trips are designated as the following routes: A31, A32, A33, B51, C40, D31, D32, D33, D34, D51, E32, M31, S35, S41, W45, W47.

Bus customers are advised to allow additional time due to the potential for delays. For your safety, never stand in the roadway while waiting for a bus.

Metrorail service is operating normally today and may be a good alternate travel option for some bus customers.

MetroAccess paratransit service is subject to delays due to road conditions. Customers who use MetroAccess are asked to limit their travel to essential trips only, and cancel any trips that are not essential.
