Metrobus customers advised of service changes during morning commute on Wednesday, January 7

Metro is advising bus customers of the possibility of service changes on Wednesday, January 7.

Based on a current assessment of road conditions, including the likelihood of refreezing overnight, Metro is currently expecting the following service levels in the morning:

  • Base Metrobus service will operate on a Moderate Snow Plan. In the interest of safety, the moderate snow plan keeps buses away from hilly terrain, narrow streets and other problem areas. CLICK FOR DETAILS AND MAPS

  • In addition, ALL school trips in the District of Columbia (service to DC Public Schools and Public Charter Schools) WILL operate.

  • Additional bus routes that ARE able to operate safely (above and beyond the Moderate Snow Plan) will be specifically announced via MetroAlerts and posted to the Bus Alerts page at wmata.com.

Metro supervisors will continue to monitor conditions and restore service as it is safe to do so. Any changes to this service plan will be announced via news release, on wmata.com, via MetroAlerts and through Metro's social media channels.
